Tyre size mk2 escort
Hi, does a 205/50/15 tyre on a 7inch wide 12p rim fit(without scrubing etc) front and rear on a standard 2door mk2 escort?? I am about to get some tyres ordered and want to be sure they will fit.any input would be appreciated. Cheers

Depends on the offset of the wheel. On my old Eskie I had the same size tyre on 13x7 Superlites and it would scrub on the rear if people sat in the back seat and would scrub close to full lock on the front. Looked awesome though!

These are 15x7 12p.I would like to fit 205, but if both front and rear scrub?? do you think 195/50 would fit with no scrubing??? Cheers

I think you'd be able to get the 205 fitting nicely, may need to get the guards rolled. Being a lower profile than the 205s I had on my 13s they wouldn't have such a big buldge in the side wall so you should get away with it!

Having said that, tyres for 15's are dirt cheap, so you could always start with 195s which will still look good, and see how much room you have to play with!

$200 each! What sort of tyre are they? They'd want to be bloody good as I was paying $150 each for 235/40/18 Federal SS 595's for the fronts on my Skyline and $200 for 255/35/18 595's on the rear.

Oh in that case, $200 for R1R's is fair! I was thinking just ordinary tyres. 595RSR's are a very good tyre also. Jeez the little Eskie will stick to the road with either of those tyres!
Hopefully somebody else on here can be more specific with fitment etc.

I have toyo r888s in 205/50/15 on 7" rims. they are on pre au falcon offset wheels. Cant tell you exactly what offset that is but im sure you will find out the info on the net. they will fit but mine do occasionally scrub the rear on really big bumps. The r888's are very square where the tread meets the sidewall so if you were using normal tyres I think it will clear. Fronts haven't been a problem as long as your not stupidly low.

I have Bridgestone adrenalin 205/50/15s on 7s on the rear, guards are rolled they rub slightly on big bumps at the top of the mudflaps. same tires on the front only in 195/50/15s on 7s the inside rear edge just rubs on full lock (you can feel it with your feet on the passenger side floor)with king sports low springs, app 25mm drop. Don't know the offset of the rims but they are performance superlights bought new for the car Hope this helps

Yes a 205/50/15 will fit ull prob need to roll the rear gaurds depending on how low ur car is sitting but i would roll them anyways...
I had 16x7 p12 offset with 205/40/16s all round and had no dramas...

Should be about right. I have 15x7 12p whhels with 195/50x15 Adrenalins, and I think 205 would be too much both on the rear (rolled guards) and the fronts foul the nosecone sometimes on hard lock. I think R-comps are slightly wider than road tyres for the same size anyway?
