    easy

put the rubber on the windscreen put a approx 5mm rope in the gruve of the rubber and cross it over in the middle for about 300mm place the screen on the car and with one person pushing on the screen and someone pulling the rope from the inside. as you pull the rode you will pull the rubber over the metal lip and the guy on the out side can put pressure at the same time as you put.

it will take you longer to put the rubber on the glass than to put it in place and it acually harder to put the locking strip in than the rubber.

I just used a wide screw driver that's wide enough to spread the rubber and you kind of drag the screw driver backward at the same time push the strip in. if you don't have the alloy corner covers give your self about 50mm and once you have gone around cut it at 45deg and it looks neat ( don't cut it first as you end up pulling it and it will pull away from the corner)

Washing line cord inside screen seal.
Someone pushes the screen from the outside, where the cord is removed inside.

electrical wire (3 or 4 mm) works well
just make sure there is no raised edges on the edge of the glass or it will crack it

I use 4-5mm string and dish washing liquid to help it slide in place with friends thumping the glass from outside while drawing out the string, never broke a window yet!
The lock strip is fitted by starting at bottom centre using diluted washing liquid and in a pressing zigzag motion it goes in easyish but gives tired fingers!!  at the end ,give it about 50mm overlap and work it in.... that stuff shrinks bad then cover with the chrome cap. mk1's dont have corners on glass so it can be done in one shot.

You can buy a little gizmo tool to assist with inserting the chrome strip.  Sorry but I cannot find a link to it :(
