elec help please

Hi, im having a problem with my mk2 2L.
It seems to be missing higher up in the revs (4k upwards) and it seems to get worse when there is something else on, such as the indicators. Its quite funny being able to time the misses to the indicators.

The alternator is not all that flash, but it has a good battery.

im going to guess its something to do with the alternator or the coil, but im just guessing here.

does anyone have any suggestions on where to look/what is probably causing it?

Thanks, Tom

ok, so i checked the ground wiring today, and it all seems fine. i cleaned up the contacts on the engine and body but it didn't make a difference. Its either the battery clamp to wiring connection isnt any good (unlikely), or something else.

is there anything else to check?

"Missing" or misfiring is usually in the HT circuit.... Change coil leads and plugs and points first.

Have had a coil go weak before and was not producing a strong enough spark at higher revs... Same exactly the thing with leads too...

Is a b@stard to chase at an autocross when you only get 6 or 7 runs in the day and it takes 5 plus the warmup to find what it was....
