1600 x-flow coil wiring

Hi i have just bought a mk2 escort with a 1600 x-flow but its missing a coil and i am not sure where and what wires should be connecting to it. all so where is it normally bolted in the engine bay. if i can get a photo or a simple schematic it would be great!

also since i need to get a new coil what brand or type should i get?

Hey Stu, i have a couple of coils in my shed, with mounting brackets. You can pretty much mount it where you want. If no-one post any photo's the wires should be easy to work out. I can probably give you a hand when i get home. I'll be taking my boat up to a mates and have to drive "up the hill" past yours.

One of the ones in my shed is a gt40. Nevermind theres nothing better than a brand new one. The wire from the dizzy goes to the negative side of the coil.
