Paint Protection

Has anyone used paint protection rather than wax? They offer a 3 year warranty and say all you need to do is wash your car. Is it any good?

Basically I hate cleaning/polishing cars, so I'm going to have the escort detailed but not sure whether the paint protection is worth it (it's $250 more). The alternative is to wax more often I suppose, but if I could avoid it that would be great.

paint protection DOES work. but the only thing is protects the paint from really, is bird sh*t.

everything else gets past it. tree sap. scratches, sun UV rays etc

(as far as i can tell from experience)

just dont park your beloved under a tree and youll be sweet!

the recipe i do, is basically every third time u wash your car (washing average once a week - once every 3 weeks)

do a hand polish, dont use stupid "cut and polish" poo poo.

or that crap the indians sell at petrol stations either lol...

    recomend turtle, or Kitten. WAX.

and if u apply the wax by machine the benefits are only better.

forgot to mention also the other reason alot of people hate polishing cars

(which is great, because they pay me to do it instead [:x)] )

is off the shelf wax is hard to rub OFF the paint, even worse if in the sun/hot shed etc.

99% of detailers use a polish called "Mirror Image"

it works very well, and rubs off with very little effort.

and u can buy it in bulk! but thats the only problem. u have to track down an autosmart dealer.....
