Mk2 4door escort, xr8 project
This was the first car I ever bought with my own money. I wanted to buy another escort becuase my first car, which my dad had bought me a year before( but he totaled it the day after 17th birthday), hence buying this escort.
Ok so, this is the frist car I have ever rebuilt and I have learned as I go with everything. I started the project in june 2010, stripping it done to panels, glass and engine/gearbox. what I have have done so far is the follow......
- replace the drivers side door
- replaced the boot
- replace front grill
- fitted a low sitting front spoiler
- filled in the vents behind the rear door
- bog all dents,deep cuts, and rust etc
- fitted a xr8 fibre glass bulge
- lowered the rear 2"
- sound proofed inside and boot
- replaced steering wheel
- all new door seals
- new carpet
- resprayed console,back seat, pillar covers,sun visors,rear shelf, switch panel black
- fitted ba xr6 front seats
- 2x 6" speaker in front doors, 2x 4" rear doors, 2x 6x9" on rear shelf, 1x 600w amp, 2x 12" subs
- false floor in boot
- extractors 2 1/4" system with centre muffler and rear muffler with twin 3" dump tips
- bonnet pins with lanyards
- painted optic white
