Mk2 Lotus Cortina Help Info Needed Please

Hi Everyone,
I am replacing the carpet in one of these and I need to know,

Does the carpet go under the front seat brackets that bolt to the floor
OR
Do the front seat brackets bolt directly to the floor and the carpet over lay the bolted area,

The car I Have has had a replacement carpet in its life time so professional on MK2 Lotus Cortinas advice would be great,

    In my 1968 english 1600E,the carpet fitted underneath the runner brackets .would think the Lotus is the same.
