wanted: cylinder leak down tester?

Hey guys,

Know it's a long shot but I'm after one of these to test an engine, only want to use it once but cant justify spending $150 on one for one use.

Just wondering if some extremely generous person has one they can loan me or I can "rent" from them, or they want to sell if its cheap enough??

Anyway any help would be much appreciated,
Jordan.

Hi what do they do and what do they look like---- as it may not be hard to make one -
--i googled images--- looks like a gadge that fits into the spark plug hole you could brake a spark plug apart and weld a fitting and a "schrader valve" and pump it up ---and watch see if it gos down ---is that it ???

Thats the item there, there is plenty DIY ones but the bits seem to be pricey here and work out to be around $100 when all is said and done.

Yer I know that there are plenty of tutorials, but the thing is even the parts (at cost from work) add up to $75-$100 any way.... Just though there might be someone on here with one.
