Fitting larger diameter Strut tops in late MK II

Hi Guys,

Got a great deal on the following front strut combination-

Capri Struts
Coilover conversion
Koni Yellow Shocks
285 lb springs
Eurospeed Eccentric Strut Tops

My question is that the Strut Tops are for a MK I or early MK II with the larger strut top holes.

As I see it I have 3 options -

1. Is it possible to just drill 3 new holes in the shell to fit the larger PCD of the strut tops
2. Have the strut tops drilled to suit the smaller PCD (Not ideal as I may loose a lot of the benefit of the struts tops adjust camber & caster)
3. Buy blank strut tops and have them drilled to suit the Larger PCD. Want avoid this if possible or if somone wanst to do a swapsies that would be cool.

Also will the 2ltr hubs fit on the Capri struts?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

P.S. Tried to post pics but I am unable to do so. Any else not able to post pics? [xo]

    Hey Kizza,

Which ones are they and how old?

I would be after the Stage 3 if I was looking to swap.

Mine have only travelled about 100 kms so practically brand new.

    Cheers,

Ignore the question on how old they are.

If you google K-mac adjustable strut tops you will see what they look like. They are new, one is out of the packet but never fitted and the other is still in the plastic packet. Been on my shelf for probably 18months-2 years. All of our Escorts are Large top so they are not of any use to us. Cheers

    HI Kizza,

    I am familiar with K-Mac.

They have the following available for Escorts -

Stage 1 - for street use is steel with ball bearings and urethane

Stage 2 - Street/Race - all alloy with pillow ball bearing in urethane

    Stage 3 - Full Race - as Stage 2, but no urethane/flex.

Note that the centres are replaceable in Stage 2 and 3 kits, giving effective lifetime usage.

    Which ones do you have?

    Cheers

Thats a good question, I'll have to dig them out on the weekend and have a look. I'd say they would just be the street ones tho so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Cheers
