Assuming this is a road going car I'm thinking you need an engineer to check/certify this. If that is the case you should probably check what he will pass rather then us suggest '2 Zip ties on either side should do it'.

I have heard cases where cars that have ben converted from bench seats to buckets (still using factory parts) have required certification. Bringing something in from another make and making it fit is fine ...........until your in an accident.

[%]Hey Matt, I used flat bar (about 4-5 mm) to put my seats in my Cortina, i'll check my Escort as i they were in there when i bought it.
If you use the slides that are on the seats, Cut the required lengths, one to go across the front and one for the back, drill the holes in the appropriate positions to mount them to the floor, bolt them on, place your seats on top then mark and drill these ones, bolt your seats on.
If your going to use the original Escort slides, Remove the slides from the Escort seats and bolt them to the floor mounts, Cut the required lengths and place them across the top of the slides. Mark, drill and bolt them on. Place your seat on (minus the seats original slides)then mark and drill these holes and bolt your seats on.
By the looks of it, in the photo, the front holes on the seat slides are angled, so i'd go with using the Escort slides.(nice toes by the way haha)
It's sounds simple but there is a bit of mucking around.
You could get tricky and use both sets of slides and have twice as much movement LOL[88]
I'm due to fly home Thursday evening and will take some photo's for you over the weekend.

If its a road car you will have to use the factory mounting positions on the floor. You cant just make your own holes.

Similar to what the other dude said just make up a frame using flat steel that will mount the seat using the original mountings on both the seat and your car.

I'm surprised more people haven't done this conversion as they are bloody comfy seats. I'm using them as extra TV chairs and will be sorry to see them go in the escort.

I was thinking I could just fix the seats the original escort runners (not too hard to do) and then remove the door side floor brackets and just move them out about 40mm (The GSR seats are about 40mm wider) and then reweld them in.

This way when viewed by anyone they will look stock and you would have to measure to be found out.

I just need a welder now[(#)]
