CDI units which one

I have been thinking about cdi units lately and cant decide what to get.If anyone has experience with these what's your advice. Is there much difference betweeen a autronic cdi 500r and a msd 6al?
As i have the msd on hand but can get a autronic at a good price.
Cheers for the input

I think the main issue with MSD is reliability, although I have seen both fail. The only other difference that springs to mind is that the MSD switches the +ve to the coil instead of the -ve like the Autronic 500r. If you have an issue with an Autronic unit, they are fixed locally and usually free[:p]

    2 questions.

How many injector outputs does your ecu have? (4 ok but if only 2 or 1 then you need an cdi that is able to fire twice simultaneously without halving power).
Do these outputs normally trigger coils directly? (will depend if you need positive or negative triggering - some are adjustable to either but others (eg. motec, autronic are not)

    What ecu?

Cool - if you have the msd unit already it will be fine. Spend the least you can.
