Lowered front spring coils

Hi Guys , I am just about to fit a set of lowered front springs , I noticed that on one end of the spring the coils are much closer , does this end go to the bottom of the strut ?Trying to do it today so if anyone can help will be much appreciated

    The buched up coils go to the top. That is the progressive section.
    Pretty sure you can't fit them upside down. It doesn't really matter as the softer section compresses first.

    Mickas[:x)] would remove a coil and one 1/4, so the coil spring sits in the bottom saddle still. Wait for the spring to cool down before you put weight on it again.
    Don't forget to fix the negative camber it causes. the front tyres won't last long.

    Sounds like you have some progressive springs there, Craig?

    Yes Craig, you're right, I fit them close wound coils to bottom, wide spaced coils to strut top.

    Have also seen them fitted the other way round, too.

    Edit: Just found a response on another forum where the OP emailed King Springs - bunched up coils go to the top.

    Don't forget to replace the bump stops, but cut them down by 1" if your springs are 1" lower.

    I have a set of King Springs here that were bottoming out (coilbinding) as the bump stops were never replaced - can be seen by paint rubbed off between coils!

    PS - Koni mount their progressive springs on shock bodies the way I described above - and I note that opinions differ - the laws of physics dictate that springs are equally compressed from either end

    Hi Guys , had success , and after asking someone to check their springs went for the compressed at the top

    Pics show before and after with front and rear now 2 inches closer with the new 15's , was lucky enough to snag some 4 leaf rears already reset so did not have too much mucking around their either
