hi can anybody convert english bhp power ratings to kwt's for me please thank you

    Divide the bhp figure by 1.34. Bear in mind the english typically talk in flywheel bhp so to get rear wheel kw you need to divide by a further 1.18

    e.g. 204bhp / 1.34 = 152kw

    152kw at the flywheel / 1.18(18% driveline loss approximation) = 129kw at the tyres

    That maths is not quite right. Assuming 18% loss

    RW kW = 152 x (100-18)/100 = 124.6 kW

    years ago we did a dyno run on a twin weber 2.0ltr. on the engine dyno it made 201 hp and when put on their chassis dyno made 104 kw at the rear wheels. a 300kw commodore only makes 280kw according o official Holden source and when put on chassis dyno makes 218kw atw. a mates 2.4 holbay was on the dyno 2 weeks ago in a mk1 made 128kw arw motec also engine dynod this engine at 241hp flywheel.

    It is only really a very rough guide. wheel KW's to flywheel has so many variants it is impossible to calculate accurately.
    Eg auto or manual, driveshaft weight, tyre pressures, tyre diameter etc, etc..
