Yeah, grab a pic if you see it again. I'd like to have a record of all the colour schemes. The combos I know of are:
Red body - yellow and orange stripes Black body - 2 tone blue stripes Light blue - orange & yellow stripes Yellow body - 2 tone green stripes Green body - ??? White - ???
I've got that sundowner sticker on another van shell.. maybe I'll screen print up a new one to match my new paint. Cheers. COZ

Well after two-ish years, the project has now taken a different direction than what I had first planned. We're now going for a back to original restoration rather than a custom pimp mobile. There'll be a few deviations from strict stock but all in all will be looking much like it did when it rolled off the floor. The two main changes will be fatter tyres and rims for a tougher looking stance on the road & a mildly worked engine. The following is list of work ( mainly body ) that I will be ticking off as summer approaches. From the back of the van to the front, work needed is as follows:
- Sand & prep barn doors, replace glass - Sand & prep & paint rear bumpers - Sand & prep rear door hinges - Strip sills, re-seal - Finish rust removal on rear wheel arch - Fix dents in interior wheel arches - Fix dents in side body panels - Replace bubble window chrome strips - Remove rust/replace a-pillars - Fix, sand & prep front doors - Sand mirrors & prep - Sand & prep bonnet - Sand, prep & paint front bumpers, locate new bolts & stand-offs - Sand & prep remaining body work - Realign driver's side quarter panel - Re-sand engine bay - Prep removable dome, install rubber - Rivet dome screw holes - Replace headlights - Remove, clean, prep & replace sunroof
That's a lot of sanding & prepping. I best get to it. Hopefully seeing everything in one big list will motivate me to do each little bit by bit & slowly get the job done. Sometimes it seems like there's so much to do that I never make a start.

yeah i know the car... classic ford did a feature om it back in 2000. i bout that issue the day after i purchased my sundowner.. and it was the article on that pine lime sundowner that made me realise that i had purchased a sundowner and not a normal van. and im pretty sure its up for sale again on car sales last week, there was a pine lime sundowner van sitting on rebels for $6000... it would be great if i could get a copy of those graphics as well..... if thats not to much trouble.

Sweet! I'm half way through re-drawing all the graphics in Illustrator but it would be a huge help to have yours on hand too. Any, if not all other photos of the van would be great as well. That lime sundowner is always the first I go to for a better idea of how they looked as stock. Great looking ride. This makes my list seem all the more achievable. So yeah, if you could email me anything sundowner related it would be much appreciated! If it's all to much or big for email, I'm happy to arrange postage etc. Champion.
sundowner, do you have plans to re-do your graphic work?

Well after almost a year of neglect, the Sundowner resto is back on track. I've bought myself a KC Laser buzzbox so the 'scort is off the road & in the shed. Trying to restore a daily driver is just not a workable option. I've been running the poor bugger in to the ground. All credit to the old duck, she's held on right to the end. A little worse for wear but that's all about to change. I'm stripping her down & prepping for new paint & right now I'm looking at the original green.
Plan is for an all original resto, but with fat rubber & go fast bits on the donk.
Right now I'm still in need of:
1. A good set of A pillars 2. Set of Hotwire or Jellybean mags. 13x7 at the back & whatever fits up front without mods. 3. Steering rack. Reco'd or close to
Anyway, just thought I'd update this longwinded project & let you the van has escaped the scrap heap once again.
Cheers guys. COZ
