W5x gearbox clearance

hi, for a possible future engine swap ive pretty much been forced into using a W5X toyota gearbox. will one of these said greaboxs fit the standard manual tunnel (im guessing theres a snowballs chance in hell)
how about an auto tunnel?
OR, will either need a bit of "persuasion" or even some new metal added in?

Thanks, Tom

    Hi Tom

A number of us (incl me) have fitted the W50 steel case box into a manual tunnel with slight "persuasion" but they fit easily into an auto tunnel.

My Steel case fits without any "adjusting" in a Mk2 Escort Auto tunnel, but I have heard that the allow case fits in a manual tunnel with a little massaging, and a steel case in a manual tunnel with a "lot" of adjusting / massaging - whatever you take that to mean...

I did very little massaging in my manual RS2000 - Auto tunnel is better, try a dummy fit and see for your shell...Might as well try...[;^)][%]....Good luck...
