The one on my W55 has a radius elbow (curved).
Have you done the input/output shaft test to determine 1st gear ratio in your gearbox yet Matt?

" The only true way to know which set of ratios you have is to count them. Here is an example of what to do with a W* series box.
1. Count the splines at the output shaft of the box.
2. Put in gear, not 4th cos thats always 1:1, but one of the others. Do all of them in turn.
3. Mark the top of the input shaft and the top of the output shaft with a dot of twink/white-out
4. Slowly turn the input shaft one rotation and get a mate to watch the output shaft.
5. Count the number of splines on the output shaft after one turn.
6. work out the ratio as follows:
ie. 21 Spline out-put shaft,
3rd gear, 1 turn of the input = 15 splines at output shaft

15 divided by 21 = .71
1 divided by .71 = 1.41

So ratio of 3rd gear is 1.41:1 "

Got the mount today from Paul Dunstan.  It's made to suit an auto tunnel MK2 so should go in without dramas

Just need a new mount & a speedo cable and all sorted

Cheers,

Matt

I won't post it here but it wasn't cheap but still represents good value.

PM if you want figures.

Been a bit quiet for a while but the parts keep arriving for the race engine.

Race clutch to suit the Celica box and 4.4 kg steel flywheel.

Yes, should do the job.  I just need a ring gear for it.  Anyone got one they want to sell?

So, I bought a new seat and it's awesome.  The lateral leg support has made a massive difference.  Only thing is being 6'4 I found it very hard getting out of the car.

So I bought a removable steering hub and problem solved.  It's awesome and no drams at all getting out now.  It's only 90mm in length so the steering wheel position has actually moved further away from me which it great.
