Picked up the new (old) 205/60 R13 A048's today. $240 for the set and they still have around 3 - 4mm tread left. Bargain. They are ex Aussie Race Car tyres and have not done too many heat cycles. I bit more trimming will need to be done to get them to fit though. Cheers, Matt

Awesome deal on the wheels Matt. Did you get your shocks direct from Europe?

Hey Mate, Yeah, pretty stoked about the tyres too. It's getting pretty close when I'll have no excuses to not drive the car! I got the shocks from a forum member 18 months ago and have just had them lying around. I have also just ordered a rear spring set made up by Wozzah in order to hopefully do away with any axle tramp. Cheers, Matt

Not much happening currently. Just getting work sorted out in the big christmas rush. I am taking most of Jan off so plenty of time to play on the escort when it all quietens down. Springs hopefully will be here before christmas. I will also be putting in the new diff and rear disc conversion too. Cheers, Matt

Christmas has come a little early this year in the form of a ported head. It was done by a mate of mine who has done quite a number of pinto heads and even had a play with using a CNC machine to do the porting along with welding up the heads etc... Plans are to fit grp 1 valves and a suitable cam for track racing and build a bottom end to handle it all. I.e. Forged pistons, steel rods etc.. It is 98% done and has yet to have the valve cutting done but that will all wait for the new year. Here's a few pics of the exhaust ports. Cheers, Matt

Been a bit slack of late so today I got stuck in to get things ready when my new springs arrive. The new diff will go in too though I am sure my wife will be sad to see it go from the laundry bench where it has sat for the last year. I'll also be putting on the R31 Rear Discs as well. From this to this to this

Still waiting for the springs so I started work on the handbrake cables for the R31 rear discs. I bolted in the splitter bracket. It was pretty straight forward I just needed to shorten the seatbelt holder bolt as it stuck down too far and interfered with the splitter a little bit. I'll get a nipple soldered on the end of a cable tomorrow to go from the handbrake to the splitter then I'll wait till the diff is in so i can bolt on the rear cable brackets I have made up to ensure thy don't foul on the tailshaft. Cheers, Matt

Turns out that the springs I ordered 2 weeks before Christmas willl be made at the end of Jan so it is unlikely that the cra will be going to Small Ford Sunday. I am really disappointed as I was really looking forward to having my car there this year especialy as I'm on the committee. Anyway, I wanted some instant gratification so I sandblased my wheels and painted them gold. Came up all right too. Cheers Matt Before After sandblasting Painted

Yeah, I bought it when I was 18 too! I do need a new one as the car is so low now that I need to drive it onto a block of wood in order to get the jack under it. The splitter is from the R31 Skyline too. Cheers Matt
