Got 1 strut in today.  I would have put the other in too but I am missing a couple of spacers on the strut top so I got some more from K-Mac along with a 22mm adjustable sway bar.  There are other types out there that use washers to increase / decrease caster but the K-Mac ones use the threaded with 2 sets of nuts so you can adjust the caster in-situ.

I am still waiting on my tie rods, TCA Replacement Rubber Boots and caliper pins and then the front should be finished.

My Bogg Bros manifold left the Yoo Kay on Thursday so hopefully that'll be here mid next week too.

Next step will be the new rear axle with disc brakes.  I can't seem to get the piston back into the caliper to fit the pads.  I bought one of those caliper winding tools but it doesn't seem to be working.  Oh well, I'll cross that bridge later.

Couple of pics.

Cheers,

Matt

Got the other strut in over the weekend and am now just waiting on tie rods and the new Sway Bar and that should be it.

My Bogg Bros manifold turned up today and I have to say it is a work of art. The inlet ports are incredibly smooth and the ends have been machined to fit the standard mounting rubbers so there is no way the carbs can fall off.

Here's a few pics to drool over.

Cheers,

Matt

The manifold looks fantastic Matt. Was it much trouble placing the order with them? Be sure to post some engine bay before and after pics

Ratta,  Bog Bros were easy to deal with and very nice and helpful guys.  They can;t do enough for you.  I just rang them and then they said just send an email and then a week later it was ready and I got it 4 days later.

Razzle, "Green" tie rods are used when fitting capri struts into a MK2 as the Capri struts have a different taper in the steering arms.  They are called "Green" as they used to be green.  Very original I know.

We have our 3rd child due any day now so I am trying to get as much done now as I am sure I won't have much time very soon.

Here is a pic of the manifold on the engine. I hope to get the carbs back on tomorrow.  The quality is amazing, I have to say, and I'm a bit embarrassed the rest of the engine bay looks so crap.  The angle is a bit more towards horizontal too so they won't stick up as high as before.

I have thought about painting the car but I plan to race it so would to fork out $ for a paint job and then smash it.  Will have a play with it like this and then I want to build up a proper car this time with 2 doors.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Cheers,

Matt

That manifold does look good.  Nice to see some good attention to detail.

Got the carbs back on last night for the last time hopefully.

They sit a lot closer to horizontal than before and seem to look a lot more at home.

Here's some pics.

Cheers
