The race is on to get the box back in and ready for this run....

If the Escort aint ready we'll still be there with the Laser.

What a day, I will just was down the MK1 ready for tomorrow, click click screech grind. Dam starter motor, never mind I have a spare I got at the swap meet, now where did I put it, oh there it is, and gees that looks bigger that I remember.
Off with the sump guard, off with the world cup mount out comes the starter.
$hit that is smaller than the new one. Off with the other mount, jack up the engine it might go in. …….. No it don’t. Ok strip down the old motor and remove the bendix clutch pack, strip down the Cortina starter and remove the clutch pack. Different one, ok remove the fork and change over the lot. Cortina one a bugs willy longer, be ok…..rebuild starter and test on bench, super stuff sweet as. Fit to car, re fit mounts and wiring and test click burr engine starts yep great day, what’s that noise? Bloody starter is still running??? Disconnect solenoid wire ….still running, loosen off starter bolts…clunk starter stops running OH wtf?? Ok bolt it back up, maybe I had it squewiff..Turn key same again. Remove starter motor strip down re fit all old bits after cleaning and hitting clutch pack with small hammer, refit starter and engine mount, turn key… start up and disengages fine. Hope it starts in the morning!!! I may be looking to enlist a couple of “pushers” during the course of the run tomorrow.

That's funny stuff Hendo

Nothing like just rolling the old car out of the shed for a drive. Not always as simple as that hey

Awesome day for a cruise up here on the coast. Pity I don't have an escort running at the moment but I may come and have a sticky beak at the entrance. . Hope to see plenty of pics

Thank you to all that attended and helped to get us to the destination.
We had the most diverse range of small Fords we could from 1960's to 2011...Almost every model represented. I totalled 58 at least at one stage...Fantastic cars and people...CheeRS...

Great run, too many cars to count. We may have to re-think the Macca's as a starting point.
Sunday drivers!!! the combination of Sunday drivers AND road works still couldn't spoil the fun.

Thanks to all who attended for making it an enjoyable day.

Great pics guys. Good to see some many out together.

It looks like the Orange Mk2 Cortina with CA18DET has moved from SA.
