Dont know for sure, but I thought the longer mount bracket goes on the other side to give extra clearance to the steering knuckle.

I would have thought that given the way the rack mounts, that it can only go on way.
Thanks Craig

As mentioned,
Xmember is right, mounts need changing sides..

Yep, Will change, had a better look at it again and it was obvious when the rack is considered. Been a long year!!

Well I swapped the mounts around and installed the engine. I couldnt get the mounts to line up, so had to swap them back. Rear Gbox mount is all correct so the Engine is in the correct place. But what am i missing here?? I had a fight getting the mounts in and now their is some stress on the engine bushes and distortion on the rubber mounts. I thought it would line up better without having to force it so much. The engine and mounts came out of the same car, except the xmember has new bushes as the old ones were so distorted. Probably from being stressed for so long. can anyone Help me here please? isit possible these are not 2L mounts?? I am close to the steering rack in places.

Anyone have any ideas here? I just tried to swap the mounts and they definately wont go on the other way. their seems to be a lot of force required to make the mounts line up properly, which I feel is not right.

I think all the manufacturers out there doing WCXM thought they knew what they were doing with the measurements... As noexit said all WCXM are not the same, the engine mounts should come from the same manufacturer as the WCXM. Atleast you would have half the chance all would be good...

Question. Does the current distortion on the bushes match the pattern on the worn ones? If it does it may be a fault that's been in the XM since new.
