New To Forum - Noob Question

Hi all.
I am new to this forum and hopefully will be a new owner of 2 Mk1 GT Capri.
I do have questions before I inspect the car this Monday.I hope it hasn't been asked too many times.
- How much would a 1969 2L GT in aveage condition ( still original ) be worth ?
- Are there areas on the car that need to be damage or rust free for the car to be a good one.

I like your forum and found alot of usefull topics i will need to re-read if I do get the Capri.

Regards

Mark B - Perth WA

Thanks Glen now i have more questions than before.
Are the plate code avaliable to work out if these are original GT's or 2L with GT bagdes.

How do i tell the differance between the motors.

When i was a teenager i spent all my time crashing and repairing my TE Cortina, I have always loved the Capri but know nothing about them i relise there will be alot of rust as it is a 40 year old car i just doint want to be ripped off when buying my dream car.

    I hope this works.

Hi coolbeer6 and welcome to the forum. Those cars dont look too bad. Many of us here have started with much worse.
As far as identifying goes engine bay pics would be very helpful and vin plate details.

Thanks all for the replies. Reading through the old discussions helped alot when checking out cars.

I put a deposit down on a 71 1600 auto - the body is straight and hardly any rust. i will post picks when i get some.

I will have lots of silly qustions when i start working on it because the auto will have to go.

    Thanks again

    JR,

I went to have a look at these cars on the weekend. The white one which you said you wanted is not a facelift model - its simply got facelift rear lights and a vinyl roof. Both these cars have a lot of rust and in my opinion are not worth anywhere near the asking price
