Rb25 or Z32 Gearbox for sr20det

Ok i know its a ford site but many are doing sr20det conversions, so rather than clog up other threads i'll post here to hopefully get some answers/advice.

Ok the 2 boxes of choice to upgrade to seem to be the 2 listed above
z32 box approx price $700-$1500, conversion kits $700-$1600
Rb25 box approx price $1000-$1800, conversion kit $599-$1500

As many already know the weak point of the SR20 is the 5sp box so rather than break and fix i'm gonna try prevention. The g/box's are approx the same size and gearing not much different but just looking for others opinions or knowledge on these box's. I have googled and read maybe 50-60pages of forums and comments but still am none the wiser seems to be a personal preference.
So comment away i am all ears ....
Cheers
Barney

I have seen the sr bellhousing cut and shut onto the skyline box. KV up the sunny coast welded back together.
    Good luck with it.

which is easier to find? id go the RB25 box, since there are a lot of RB25 skylines out there, and they usually have pretty crappy drivers, so lots of wrecks out there.

u can pick z32 boxes up from 500-1000... to buy a decent condition rb25 box ur looking at 1200-1500...

the rb25 box is bigger then the z32 box as well...
ull have to cut ur tunnel to allow for which ever box u decide to go with...
i would seriously consider going the z32 box it works out to be cheaper and they are basically the same size internals as an rb25 box anyways... whilst having a smaller case

while the dollar is so strong i would get a mazworx adaptor kit from the USA... no need to cut and shut the bellhousing... jus a small ammount of milling to allow for the adaptor plate...

my z32 conversion kit cost me like $500-$600 and picked my box up for $500...
