Adjustable top mounts

Hi All

I will need to purchase something as my original strut tops are knackered! (Please keep in mind this is a street car - not a racer )

Are the Wilkinson Suspension adjustable strut tops similar to the now obsolete Noltec items? Are they any good?

What about anything from the UK?

K-Mac stage 1's. If you have late MKII with smaller strut top's, the K-Macs will give both caster and camber adjustability. The Noltec only have camber adjustability.

And the Wilko's raise ride height by ~ 1.5" if using standard springs and struts.

Is this typical of the Noltec items also?

Does anyone know if Kmac make the Stage 2 for the Escort?

I have a set of the K-Mac's (that adjust caster & camber). Have been taken out of the packet and put on the car, but the car isnt driveable (ie: unused).

I bought them when the car was apart and during the rebuild discovered I had camber pins in the cross member - so I don't need them any more.

I used The top mounts from a Toyota Corona/Celica 1984, they are rubber bushed & bearing'd. Only hard bit is to locate centrally & drill new mounting holes...i did mine offset so i could go some camber, they worked perfectly !

    Paul,

The wilkinson units are the same as the old noltech items.

I use them, and I have found them to be excellent.

Sorry we didn't get to catch up when I was over. Hectic weekend. Had I not exploded the clutch it would have been alot more relaxed.

    Cheers

    Hey Warren

Yes, these things happen but it all worked out in the end although we didn't catch up for a drink and a yarn.

I've basically decided on the Wilkinson items now so thanks for the review.

hey i know this is an old post - but toss those camber pins.
    There useless.
I had them once - they always spin out to full.
    Stick with tops or tca's.
