Coil voltage.

As most would know, the power feed to the + side of the coil is via a pink ballast wire which reduces the voltage. My multimeter is reading at the coil only 5.7 volts. This seems low even tho the engine runs ok.
Has anyone checked what voltage they have? And if this is too low what could be the problem?

No thats just with ignition on engine not running, I better check it with the engine running.

Yes as we had an issue with power to the Petronix electronic disy kit & it showed 9 volts which is to the coil & the Petronix unit requires 12, so we just put in a relay to solve the problem.

Have you checked that you have the right type of coil. You can buy them for "with resistor" and "without resistor" Since we have the ballast wire we need the with resistor type.
