Sean, Thats the car. Used to be Platinum Blue. Would love to have a copy of that ad if you could email or post on here please. Rhys, 8K without Cossy, I didn't buy the car from that ad, guy before me did. I bought it in back in 2000. The ad was many years before. Car looked schmick from a distance when I got it Too bad it was missing basically all of the front floor/firewall. That was rebuild one, this time I did everything else. Bubble rust was starting to come out on car and couldn't sell it for what I wanted, only had kids interested so thought I'd tidy it up and keep it so.... 2yr build was sparked by the idea of a 2month front end rust removal from front gaurds, spoiler fix up and respray of front only. Then this is the turn out 2yrs later. Ooops. What can I say, i sanded too much and had to finish it. Cheers Ty, sure is fun getting out and about in it. Got about 265km's on the clock now. I drove it at night for first time on monday night. Spotties turn night into day. Also update- I've had both sides cut and buffed now. Slowly getting there...... Also included a pic of car with parker lights on when it sun was going down to show how much of the lights you can see. Remember these are parkers not brake lights. Just installed my fibreglass plenum today and got some pics if anyone doing the same is interested. I think the original dome the mould was taken from was fairly dented so I've filled dents to try make it look a bit better. Still requires painting properly (done out of can) but waiting till few others bits of car go in for painting for a proper job of it. Have currently got a screw at either side at top to hold gril down and keep dome from moving but will get something nicer looking down the track. I put a neoprene type foam in between dome and car with a gap at bottom for drainage. Clamp at bottom also has an enlarged hole where bolt goes through for drainage too. Also you may see from pic that the little grommet that wedges middle back bit of bonnet up is riveted to grill part instead of dome. Couldn't attatch it to dome as its suppsoed to as was to low and grill needed middle pulled down to meet the bonnets line when shut. Any comments on this setup? I sold the Recaros to ChrisRS2000 from this forum. Have got a set of SAAS GT's now. Recaros were a better seat but the new ones are quite comfy and hold me in well. Rhys

Sort of update:
Done 1180km's
Got surge tank, filter and pumps mounted. Test fitted one of my fuel lines under car. Still need brackets that will hold two lines. Getting a new 2 1/4" exhaust tomorrow (if its doesnt overheat in the traffic) then once I've got that done will pull off road again I think.
Noticed over last few weeks its developed bit of an oil leak. Pretty sure its the rear main seal too. I must have done something wrong if its leaking so soon??? Car is getting very close to 210F when driving normally now even with thermo on. Only been getting hot since I drove it on Sunday. Could be some sort of blockage. Will check but also going to get radiator reco'd as i should have done that before I first started the motor. So while thats out and im pulling carby and inlet off and fuel lines off for EFI, going to pull engine out again and check this oil leak. And replace flywheel bolts for ARP items, you guys have got my feet scared. Once engines back in, will mount manifold, run fuel lines etc etc. And take it to dyno joint for them to tune up. Hope to have all this done for Nov 11 when theres a Mallala practice day on. See how we go....[:I]
Thats it for now. Rhys

Cool as..
It might be worth considering getting your radiator 3 cored if you are getting it reco'd... just a thought.
yeah.. ive heard of lots of people having probs with snapping pinto flywheels bolts, although i havent had any probs yet... i'm going to get my flywheel/crank dowelled before i fit it into dads mk1... as he's claimed my motor, LOL

Yeh the top tank is larger. Was in the car when I bought it 5years back. I'd say by looking at it compared with standard 2lt, it would hold more liquid too. Would need to check my manuals to be sure though.
Went for my last drive today. I've pulled it back off the road, the fun begins again.
