    Hi there,
I had 2 genuine sets of front twin cam guards and they were both no where as far as gaps go and I know exactly what the beater is going through as I am one too,
you can ring me if you like on 0407896015,
your gaps are governed by the length where it noses flush with the bonnet, ignore if possible the uneven gaps around the plenum section and it is qute possible your guard is not flush with the doors, that will have to be knocked in, the most important thing is to make your body lines right and if you look at all Escorts with a very critical eye you will see the side body line is up or down to the door line, that can be made correct,

Even when Mk1s were new the gaps were shyte. After 35 or so years, they are definitely not going to improve.
