Alloy sump hairline crack

Hi all,

I've just filled my sump with oil and found it has a small crack on the corner near where the clutch cable goes through. I can't actually see it as such but oil is slowly weeping out.

Can anybody suggest some sort of epoxy etc that I can use as a temporary fix, just to get it to the dyno at least?

Cheers,

Cam

The problem being trying to stop the leak and not get oil contamination in the liquid metal stuff that you want to use...
Just get it off and welded...

    Sump welded and refitted.

I've just been trying to get the oil pressure up using my 18v cordless drill on the pump drive, which I haven't done before.

It spun freely for a few minutes then the drill really started to struggle.

Just to see what was going on I put a quarter drive ratchet on the end and it turned but with a lot of resistance. When I let go of it, it spun backwards.

Is this a good sign or a bad one?

[(#)] lines to remote oil filter and cooler were wrong way around. [:I] So it was filling the filter in the middle but then the oil couldn't go anywhere. It only took about half a litre of oil squirting on my pants for me to discover it. [88]
