MK2 Tina struts for Anglia

has anyone here done this conversion? i was under teh impression it was a straight swap, but have since been told that isnt the case. if not, what needs to be done or any alternatives.

Thanks

I've converted the struts but have not yet fitted them to the 105E.
I'm using Mk1 Capri inserts, which are shorter than the Cortina item.
I opted to shorten the strut casing, rather than make up a spacer. I'm using a fairly conventional coilover kit. Also using Milton eccentric strut tops to adjust camber and caster. Using Mk2 Cortina lower control arms. I bought new steering arms (developed for use with the Cortina strut conversion) from Milton to restore turning circle to something less than that of a Mack.

thanks bloodyeck...are you saying that the mk2 struts arent a direct swap? i am no mechanic but am learning as i go. i just really wanted to get some decent suspension on the car but without a lot of fannying about.

Hi Gerrard. Not the way I chose to go. I have to say though that I have taken advice from the now deceased Kevin Wood of Milton Race Preparations. PM me with you phone number and we can discuss. If you get onto the 105speed web site you'll find that the Mk2 Cortina strut is the one recommended (if you don't want to go for the Milton or Gaz equipment). Now that the exchange rate has improved I would probably look at Gaz as an option. If you get the Milton conversion you have to send them a pair of Mk2 Cortina struts as an exchange.
