Escort respray.

Hey guys. New to this forum.
Just started doing some work on my mk2 2 door escort. Used to be a 1600 automatic. Gonna put a 2l into it and manual box. Just have a few questions. Is it better to put a 2l radiator into the car thus cutting the panel below the radiator. Also will the tailshaft fit into the manual gearbox. Would like to get the colour code for a uk rs mexico in yellow. Any ideas how i'd obtain this?? Something like this- know its a rs2000 in the photo.

you will need to cut the panel to fit the 2L in.

2L radiator and 1600 are the same just different brackets.

I thought the aussie RS colour was "Pine 'n Slime" (lime)?

That RS of Craig Watsons was painted abysmal Yellow (Absynth Yellow - Holden colour).

I still have that copy of FF&R.

you dont have to cut the radiator panel, theres 2 options,

one - cut the radiator panel, run a manual (or thermo) fan, engine side, and sit the radiator in there properly.

two - leave the 1600 radiator and surround in place, just remove the engine fan, and put a thermo infront of the radiator (plenty of room)

on engine side, the radiator will sit about 10mm from the bolts on the water pump pulley......

and yes, the tailshaft will fit.

I dispute that about "Pine Lime" i have a yellow RS and the colour on the certificate of authenticity i obtained from Ford calls it "Lemon Lime"

I reckon Pine Lime is an urban myth
