Burton order...

Was going to place an order for some small things from
https://www.burtonpower.com/

and thought that i would offer if someone wanted anything small from the to maybe consider adding it in to save a little on postage...

Just an option, only small and will be placing it early next week.

Cheers

    LOL...

Well im going to be ordering some type 9 speedo drive gears cos i can find them anywhere here(if anyone knows please let me know), and maybe some badges.

Pretty much only small bits but can always look to see how much whatever ppl ask for will put on the postage to weither i bother or not...was almost considering a rocker cover but wouldn't want to know the postage of that considering 6 small parts is over 30pound!!!

    Cheers

Alloy rocker cover for a pinto cost me nearly $100 in freight a while back Bryan. Doubt much would have changed since.

30quid start-up plus 6.50 for every KG but I have found that they usually dud you a KG or 2 IE TNT weight the parcel at 4kg Burtons will charge you for 6 which really sux but it seems to have happened on all my orders as they calculate the freight as you add things to your basket

Ask them if they will send the parts by air mail, rather than courier. It is much cheaper. The courier will certainly get the stuff to Australia quicker but you certainly pay a premium for the service. My last order was sent TNT. What excrement service they provide. I have also noticed that you get touched up in the weight of the parcel.

You also need to consider that they price on volume as well as weight. That normally accounts for the difference between in price.

Checked the cubic & the dead weight was the greater as far as price goes mail will beat courier up to a point, about 1 or 2 kg than a courier is cheaper (Burtons use mail for things like carby jets) as far as TNT's service goes my last order left Burtons Friday & I had it in Lismore the following Tuesday

Interesting info when ordering small items from Burton....

When I ordered 4 carby ram tubes it was much cheaper to make 2 orders of 2 ram tubes
Order of 4 was 33 pound freight (tnt)
Order of 2 was 7.50 pound freight (post)- total 15 pound

    Cheers, Gregg

    Cheers Guys for the info...

Watch what i ordered and checked the postage after a part was added to see where the limit was for the 7.50GBP before it hit like 32.50GBP...big difference when you are only ordering 40GBP worth of seals...tho will do another order next week probably for spare seals and it will still work out a lot cheaper!!

    Great advice!!!

I placed my first ever order with Burton's 5 days ago for some stocked items, and although my CC has been debited, I've yet to receive an email confirming my order has shipped.  The "My Account" section is supposed to permit me to "view and track your orders in (my) account and more", but I don't see anything there regarding order status either.  Given they aim to ship same or next day, and I'm paying through the nose for DHL, I'd really like to know where my order is at, if only to ensure that someone is available to collect it upon delivery.  How does Burton keep customers in the loop?  Have I missed something on their web page?

Rob I've noticed that with Burtons too - the next notification is often a box arriving on your doorstep!  They have always been good to deal with otherwise - no complaints here.
