MK1 escort, MK2 2L struts?
I'm about to lower my escort and hope to use the 2L struts I bought recently. I want to do it on a tight budget. The car will be for road use only. A "4 wheeled cafe racer' if you will
Is there a way to convert these to coil over but retain the existing hats and springs??
Just thought it might be a cheap way around it.
2L struts will raise a MK1 by 25mm, and I want the car about 35mm lower than where it sits now on MK1 struts.
I understand the MK2 struts are metric,, I aim to use a MK2 steering rack. Will a MK2 1600cc steering rack work?
Thanks

Yes there is a way. I can supply you lower spring platforms to suit standard springs and coilover adjustable seats. Will advise a price if you contact me, but they are not overly dear.

Cheapest way is to grind the spring seat weld off lower the seat by the amount you want and re-weld it.
Just make sure you pull the struts apart first.
