Celica to Zetec

Hi,
Has anyone fitted a Celica Steel W50 box to a Zetec or Kent? I am looking for a hands on person who has done the work himself modifying bits to fit, not using the likes of aDellow conversion.
My thought run along the lines of an Aluminium sandwich plater betwwen the Celica box and a MK2 Cortina bell housing.
Your thoughts and comments appreciated.
Thanks,
Les.

I am sure there was someone on here that used an escort auto bell hsg (alloy)cut down to the correct depth and welded a plate with the toyota pattern.

I have a mate who adapted a W55 box to a BP engine by cutting and shutting 2 bell-housings. Biggest problem is ensuring the 2 sections are welded together and maintaining the tolerances so the box mounts up straight and true. Another problem is the poor quality cast alloy used during manufacture which can be a real pain to weld.

As above - why? The Dellow housing may be a little more expensive than DIY but it' fits, looks great and it works.
