World Cup X/M

Hey,
I am currently fitting a world cup cross member to my mk1, due to breaking engine mounts one to many times.
i've got the x/member bolted to the body and the engine mounts bolted, but it looks like the steering coupling is going to cause problems hitting the x/member(haven't bolted the rack in yet), will i have to purchase a steel steering coupling?, the one on there would be original most likely.

Thanks guys
