single 40DCOE too big for 1600 xflow???
So I've bought a 40DCOE weber on a lynx single side draft manifold with plans to bolt it onto the 1600 engine I have. Now I was talking to a performance shop today and the manager was telling me that the 40DCOE weber is WAY too big for the 1600, and that a 32/36 downdraft carb on a GT manifold would be much better. He also said that the single sidedraft would be awful to drive in traffic, would have no bottem end, could catch on fire and power won't hit till 4000rpm!
So, I'm a bit disappointed hearing all this. Can anyone tell me "from experience" how the 40DCOE & lynx manifold runs on the xflow (assuming I had advanced timing with electronic ignition, bosch red coil and rotary fuel pump)
Thanks
