Looks sweet Haydn Have you thought about white walling the tyres, I reckon it would finish the look nicely

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks fellas.
Phil, 60's Fords & Holdens look great with white walls don't they, especially with venetians in the rear window. But I'm not sure if I want to try that with my escort [x2x] I had been trying to acheive more of a 'street' look with the car (maybe I have gone horribly wrong somewhere lol)
Mark, how did your ET's go at the drags? Did you run a flat 11?

I soon grew sick of the smell from venting the crankcase through a mini breather! Here's the finished product (except the 3/8 'T' fitting will get replaced with a 'Y' fitting, so the PCV hose and brake booster hose aren't inline) No more nausea & headaches now

Hey Jonsey. Yep the can is sealed, it's a 'calibre' brand from supercheap. It's air tight and does the job well. The top comes off so baffling can be put in (not that I did but I want the option). The hose on the left runs along the top of the booster bracket and onto the PCV valve. Kents have terrible blow-by once the rings are worn. I bought the catch can to ensure that none of the muck makes it into my cylinders or brake booster.

What a great couple of days! I've been up in central queensland and stopped in Bundaberg today to purchase the following! 711M 6015BA "high compression" engine from a 1975 escort with 234 cam! woot woot Came with 4 speed box, engine mounts, starter motor, chrome air cleaner and factory exhaust manifold. When I have some time, the blocks will be getting swapped over and maybe convert to manual. I have a question. To make the swap quicker I was thinking of removing the head of my current motor, leaving the DCOE carb, manifolds all attached (my extractors have a flange plate) and bolting it all onto the HC block. Do you think there may be some differences in the HC head that means I would need to use it? Anyway, here are some pics And one of the esky

very nice neat car. Wheels look great. Not many people stick with black wheels and dress rims. Good job. Fahley

Thanks fahley. The car is a sunday cruiser, I don't see the need for alloys. The SAAB rims have been a cheap way to get some 15's and I think they look great aswell.

Just a quick update. I have the HC motor on a stand now. Having it suspended there at working height has given me the bug again. I want to do a compression test and then get head & sump off and inspect some more. Can't wait to get the block all cleaned up and painted
