aftermarket ecu

i know this will sound pretty stupid to a lot of you but i need to know a little info about aftermarket ecu's. it is going into a toyota running a standard engine just a later model than what it was fitted with . anyway do you use the factory sencors and do is there usualy any modifications to dizzy's ect, i have already wired it to the factory ecu but it has developed a glitch in the ecu so was thinking going aftermarket as this is a real budget project now what brands are recomended [x2x]

What car, engine and ecu are you trying to setup? We might be able to work from there.

its an sv11 1985 camry with 2.2 litre 5sfe and auto trans . i have the factory 5sfe computer on it. it would be easyer just to put another factory one back in it but i was thinking the aftermarket ecu is probably better suited for this project if i can find out enough about them
