Oil coolers - what's the difference?

Hi all.

Just wondering how the anatomy of oil coolers differs between something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350359061640&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

... and this:

http://www.pwr.com.au/?gclid=CKqC9cH7gqICFcMvpAod3RyIDg#/view=products/s=os/ (plate and fin type)

Obviously there is a significant price difference between the two, but as far as cooling ability goes from a club level motorsport point of view (i.e. sprints and hillclimbs), is the price difference justified?

Thanks in advance.

there is no difference in the "anatomy" of both these coolers.

the main difference will be built quality, i have a none brand 19 row cooler with a rough ish paint job at half the price of the mocal equivilent and its fine and im planing on put one into my WRX.

and if you have any concerns just keep an eye on it check for rust spots and try not to put excessive pressure through it

I read earlier today on a website (ARE I think) that cheaper coolers often have a degree of metal swarf trapped inside after manufacture. If this is true then get a good oil filter next to it!!!
