How/where to fit anti-tramp/radius bars:Mk1

How/where to fit anti-tramp/radius bars:Mk1

Hi all. Looking for some advise. Have been supplied an angled set of anti-tramp bars and wondering whether there is any science in where to locate the two points: chassis and axle, to gain most benefit. Would be happy with a couple of pictures.

    They pretty much sit in only one position. they should have no load on them when the car is in the 'road' position. That is with the suspension at its normal height when the car is on the ground.

    Otherwise you will continually break the mounts off

    Hi Ian - i just got delivery of mine too.
    I havn't googled it much yet but i am thinking as wide as i can find a place. I figure the wider the sit on the diff the more stable they will hold it.
    A for rotation well like it was said, where there is no load at general ride hieght.
    Thats my best guess anyhow.
    Any one got pics fitted for us??

    I had bolt on ones under the leafs once - they were great so i will be interested to see how these go.

    You will find the way the kits are made they will only sit in one position as i said earlier.

    If your car is a late MK1 with MK2 type shockers you will also have to cut the factory sway bar mounts off the diff housing as these are right where the diff brackets will sit .

    If its an early MK1 with double eyelet shocks you have to use the 'bent bar type' arms
