where to buy locking fuel cap?

as said above, where do you buy replacements from? repco has been just useless, and none of the universal, off the shelf items fit.

thanks guys! im counting my lucky stars everytime i fill up that they key will still work!

half the key is IN the cap LOL

    Go to Autobarn (or Repco) and ask for a CPC SL70 cap.

    I am assuming you still have the side fuel tank?

    If its a drop tank (later MK2) its a SL44EC

    If half the key is in the lock, take it to the local locksmith. They'll have it fixed within no time and can cut you a new key.

    that'd cost more than the new cap, try bursons or R&E aswell

    Doesn't cost that much. Just take the cap in to them.

    thats what the boys at work said i should do. im struggling a bit at the moment, so ill just get prices on both and see what's cheaper.

    I have a locking fuel cap with a key for sale suits Mk2 Escort with rear filler.
    I tried to sell it on ebay a few months ago however the buyer didn't ever getting round to paying.

    If interested I will post up a piccie.

    by rear do you mean drop tank or side tank? or are the caps the same?
    (different part numbers?)

    Rear, between the tail lights, behind the licence plate.
    Not sure if the same as the side mounted filler cap.
