Thanks for the reply Ron, you're right, I should have been more specific.
I have the rear springs out of the car at the moment. They are 3 leaf with over riders. On dismantling and stripping I discovered a lot of rust pitting around the saddle bush area of the springs and the bottom leaf ends have worn into the middle leaf leaving indentations. The rubber bushes at each end of the springs appear to be in good condition as do the rest of the bushes in the rear suspension other than the shackle bushes which will need replacing.
The shock absorbers are KYB gas filled Dr.de carbon system type with KG4621 BG18 stamped at the bottom. I'd like to retain them as they appear to be in good condition.
Before being taken off the road the car cornered quite well and had a stiffer ride than other standard cars I've driven. This is the only Capri I've owned or driven.
So, as far as the springs go, should I replace them and if so what with so that I make an improvement in doing so?
Hope thats a bit easier to work with.
Regards, Mark.
