i run 225lbs on mine, and its a good ride on the road. before that i had 200 and 250. i found 250 was a back breaker, and 200 was too soft for my ride height. if you want a comparison, i think i read somewhere that king springs kffl-13 were about 190lbs?

Ok - bit of googling sorted that out. James i get the feeling you are after comfort and so 4k might be a little soft for me!? Any one else got any input on this. I like it quite stiff, as it was with the lovells. I could just about feel a stone on the road

That's ok Darren, it's all good. Maybe it can help someone else as well. I have mine finished and they worked out well. I think way too much thinking went into it in the end. Basically we set the tubes on at about 50mm from the top and I used 10in 250lb springs. Only thing you really need to watch is that the threaded collars don't hit wheels. I now have some helper springs as there is a gap at the top (at full travel)when the correct ride height was set. Good luck with yours.

250 seems ok to me but it is only a street car so far. Haven't had the time to take it on a track yet. Craig.

Volvo four pots with BMW E30 discs. They work well for budget brakes. Craig.

5kg coil overs ordered from otomoto. Thanks Ash.
I went on a drift site and they were all running 8kg. Figuring they want a bit of oversteer i would b safe with 5kg. Cross fingers[(#)]

to an extent.. all my local roads aren't quite racetrack smooth, and too stiff can also doesnt help understeer when pushing hard.

Hey. Just putting the old setup next to the new setup - i am just a little concerned that the new setup seems alot lower than than the old. If you consider that the keeper spring will fully compress and then i pressume the wheight of the car will compress the main spring a little - will it be substantially shorter and should i compensate for that? Craig how much lower than stock is your front end?

Not sure on that one, I never really measured it. The top of the tyre sits at the guard height if that makes sense. The new setup doesn't compress anywhere near as much as the original springs, so don't worry. It'll work. Craig.

No problems Glenn, do you have some 2L legs or are the ones in the Zetec 2L already? I haven't checked. What are the struts? Konis for an Escort 2L? Craig.
