Camira ECU

Gents I remember reading about Camira ECUs being reprogramable and able to be used on a Pinto Sierra Injection set up.
Can anybody tell me what is required to reprogram the ECU and how much one of these ECUs would cost. What particular model camira did it come out from? Does any other car have the same ECU
What are peoples experience with them......its for a street car.

Any information would be good.

Camira engines share the same firing order as a Pinto.
It has been done before, but i would just convert the points to electronic ignition with a kit from repco.

Delco ECU JE Camira. Also on VL commodores but you need the 4cyl memcal. It is batch fire with a dizzy so the firing order is irrelevant. You need an electronic ignition with a VR pickup (sierra elec NON efi dizzy, or Volvo guts into pinto. Wire up the mech advance).
Can be calibrated / tuned with some free software, name escapes me but can’t be tuned live.
The manual JE Camira map is not too bad for a standard pinto, although mine was a bit worked so it ran like crap. Another guy off the form had good results, I switched to Megasquirt.
There is a website detailing this, will find it later.

JamesR thats the one.. I forgot I got thanked in the credits [:I] The guy who wrote it used to be on the forum but I think he sold his escort.

Anyway the software is called tunerpro http://www.tunerpro.net/ They used to sell an emulator which allowed you to tune in real time (with tunerpro RT)

I always wanted to spend more time working on these.. They are a good ECU and the concept is good.. but in the end megasquirt was better as I wanted wasted spark, wideband O2 and all the other features it offers.
