she starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!many many thanks to lucas and Rhys for there effort tonight, have to go get smashed at the seaford tav sometime soon!
but anyways after alot of freaking with the timing she started and ran on her own which is a huge step!!! gave up on spark for now half way thru the night, will eventually come back to it.
there are a few issues we noticed while she was running they are:
a freak load of oil came out and on to the floor, and from a brief look it seems that it all cam from the dip stick where it wasn't pushed in right, is there any other reason besides that oil may piss out on the right had side of the motor?
and my second which is my main drama is my oil breather on top of the rocker cover is forsing large amounts of air out? and on more than a occasion amouunts of splattered oil aswell.......WHY?? is there a set reason for this?
anyway even with its problems i am still so stoked to finally here her again (even tho she is sounding like poo poo right now). next step is find out these issues then try get her into a dyno!
a special thanks to andrew, who has helped a poo poo load through this efi set up. answering all my stupid questions and even fixing my unit itself! top bloke!!
cheers Rhys
P.s i have some video on my fone i will up tomorra its like 1:10 righgt now

Well having read all 35 pages of this saga I can say congratulations on getting her started! This thread has had more ups and downs than a yo-yo! [:u] I've even watched the dog grow up! Well done you must be very happy, and with such a nice car and all [^] If you need a hand I might be able to offer if you're interested. Cheers Nathan Adelaide

The dipstick is certainly a place for oil to come out, on the engine I just built I have the oil pressure line right next to it, so check that for being in nice and tight and also no damage to the line. It actually sends oil all the way up to the dash, i found this out when the connection at the dash failed on my RS once previously. As for the oil breather, sounds like the PCV isn't working right, it should be regulating block pressure, not the oil filler cap / breather. Check the vacuum setup in the car, soak the PCV in fuel, sounds like the block is pressurising and forcing air out the top to me. Good luck with it all, my RS engine started for the first time today and had to troubleshoot a few small ones too. Timmeh

well got round to finally testing the dizzy, i would have done it earlier but it was another one of boostworx's many lies they have been spelling off, telling me they had it done..... took it to the sparky he tested it and she is freaked, checked it my self later just to make sure and the hall effect sensor is dead, which would explain the lil bit of spark at the start then dying and nevr to be seena gain. (sensor was on her way out) so tomorra i am going to try get my hands on another sensor and have her fixed by Wednesday at the latest as i want to spend thur nite setting her all up again and get it started on elec ignition. hopefully we get a reliable start so i can do a little bit of programming on the comp then send her off to another dyno tuner by early next week........(this is all a very optemistic aproach!!haha) so Rhys, Glenn if your interested in lending a hand again thrusday nite or Friday is the go[:x)] cheers Rhys

Could you not just get a sensor off a Volvo Bosch dizzy? Then swap a few wires back from fuel only to make it fuel and spark and bobs ya cross dressing auntie that likes to frequent maslins..... Can't make it Thurs or Fri, I gota work as I've got both Sat/Sun off for my BDay. Rhys

There was atleats one at 'my local' it last time I was there. Wires i cut close to plug in drivers side. Reconnect matching colours, then follow diagram to get engine bay side correct. Though they should all still be there, just swapped for fuel only. Rhys
