Id go there mon morning, put it on a tow truck tell them to freak off and take it home dont pay anything. They wouldn't give the slightest about your life, family. You are the one that owns the 25 yo car so if your after reliability go buy something else, they wont buy that story.

Put a weber on it then you can drive it, work on the efi off the car. the time you spent writing the letter you could have solved half the problems yourself.
Not keen on it, theres a million other people that would be able to work on it, ie. a mobile sparky could sort all your wiring out, you'll probably want the dissy set and running before you start playing with the efi anyway which the weber would help.

It even says it is strongly recomended that the car is running, timing etc before you start playing with the efi MS gear.

Its taken them this long to achieve nothing so what's the letter going to do?

I have to agree....I know your pissed, but a letter like that probably isn't the best way to go.
If thats a run down on how things are supposed to go it sounds like a late night and a few beers and a bit of head scratching in your garage may get it started as the letter seemed to explain it. Then it's just a tune.

Yes I be taking it Home, letters can get people angry but I guess that is their point. Pay nothing and enjoy the experince of doing it yourself. I am with Grant the Escort never gets left anywhere over night and if some works on it I am there watching them and learning.

Just my story.

Rhys,
Its up to you, if the manual is quite in depth etc then i don't see why not. After Uni exams could probably sit down and suss it out. Diodes and resistors etc send me up poo poo creek so if the manual is clear enough to say what size and where, then probably do-able.

i'd agree with (the other) Rhys and grant too. They've had their time.. Rhys says he'll help you, print off all the manuals and directions you have and follow that. It won't take more than a day or two. Me or grant can email you a map to get you going.

The directions/pics i emailed to you were meant for you to go down and check it over yourself and have a crack at troubleshooting it, they weren't really meant to be chopped into dot points and given to the tuners.

If they do get it going (using that letter) they'll be waiting another 80 days for the next set of directions. [88]

hey grant or andrew, went in and spoke to him and he has actually been doing work, he tried everything on that list and it would work besides this....

apparently the signal is being re-routed by the MS box to the earth lead? he says he double checked all the wireing and it comes down to a micro chip (or whatever there called) that he rekns must be posotioned in the wrong spot, wrong way round or sumthing that is doing this to the signal. this seems to be the only issue now, if that is sussed he is sure i will get a RPM reading and can start my car....

is there a logical explenation for this with MS? is it just a simple case of changing this lil chip? or is it sumthing more sinister?

also i have pictures of the uit open so is it possible to look at it and tell which one is the issue/out of place?

cheers

If the unit was tested (which it sould have been) it should be ok though..
