Is your shifter in 180deg out,you need the cut out/bigger step of the shifter fork in the gearbox to be on the drivers side of the gear box from memory,if you have a short shifter they can require a tickle with a grinder for clearance.

Hey I have the same problem- no reverse. I've tried the shifter 180 deg, removed the reverse switch (just in case it was seized) still no luck- any other ideas?

i got mine to work now get reverse instead of 1st??

any way blackjack what kind of shifter do you have? just make sure that the step at the bottom of the shifter is to the right? it may mean a little grinding if you have some brands of short shifter!

Stuart, I can bring my shifter around and try it in your box if you want. Mine is a Rose Joint shifter but the fork should be the same as a standard one and it works fine in mine. Actually i'm pretty sure i have my standard one tucked away somewhere aswell. Atleast, you can try them and compare them with yours.

I have 2 standard shifters, & I've tried both in both positions (180deg) Is there a plastic 'bit' in the shifter hole- I have recollections of some brocken bits I just removed & ditched.

Do you still have the plastic saddle on the selector rod that
    the shifter sits over?

    Cheers
