rekon it would make much of a difference?

ive been given an offer to get a 2&1/4 (i think?) sports exhaust off a mate. might look into that.

theres only ONE thing that stops me from ripping the standard exhaust off. and thats cuz it makes a "fun" little farty sound from the outside.[88] its 1&1/4 inch i think.

Yes,it will make a absolutely HUGE dfference. You have worked on getting the air in, but with a 1&1/4" exhaust you are stopping the air getting out. You need to remember that an engine is basically an air pump - the better you can get the air in and out the better it will go (up to a point, of course)

If you don't believe me get your mate with the Gemini to block off half his exhaust and you will get an idea of how much difference it makes....

Cheers

Similar spec (more or less...) to yours with 2" low restriction muffler no resonator and twin 40 idf's -

Sound better than that "fun" little farty sound?

Performance wise she sits up the tailpipe of the 220kw AU XR8s, flashed BF XR6s, etc. in the twisty stuff and up the straits in controlled environments on ford club runs.

Cheers

Just echoing what others have said but it sounds to me that there are two things you need to do.

1) Get that 2.25" exhaust
2) Get it properly dyno tuned

2) on its own gave me 6kw more - from 60 to 66kw - on a not far off standard engine, (32/36, std cam, lukey extractors, 2.25" exhaust). Cost about $220 for tune, which is $36 per kw which is the cheapest power you can get.

yep sounds good, that also crossed my mind. but i wont bother until i have the twins 40's on. then i can get a good tune and wont touch it for a while.
