Victorian Hillclimb Series

For those interested, this is the link for the Victorian Hillclimb Racing website.

Any information about the series is available on the site, including requirements to compete at the events. There are classes to accommodate most vehicles regardless of modification. With 7 rounds at 6 different venues its a great introduction to motorsport, well priced and loads of fun.

    Camperdown event was wet, scattered showers the whole day during competition. Most people managed one dry run for the day, but times were a little on the slow side with the cold weather. However, it was a great turnout, 88 entries from memory and the event was still enjoyed.

    Next round is at Phillip Island on Sunday 16th of May. The event will be help on the new configuration, backwards onto the track from the pit lane entry, through the last turn backwards and finishing near the hayshed. Now known as "Lukey Hillclimb"

    Hey Woz, another great result! Looks like there were a few tank slappers out there. Was it slippery or just the nature of the course? I was surprised to see the AWD TX3 go round!

    Hi Simon,

    The track was actually quite good, but the tight left hander before heading up Lukey heights caught a few out (including myself ). Was a pretty good event. Hadn't noticed the AWD until I saw the photos.

    Hi All,

    The 5th round was held at Mt Leura on the 5th and 6th of June. It was a wet event, scattered showers all day Saturday and Sunday.

    Probably the most impressive car on the day was Kevin Mackrell in the V8 powered 4x4 Datsun 260Z (there are videos of this monster on youtube). Not only taking out his class, but also fastest time of day.
