Driving the car to work today and get the following comments (with thumbs up from neighbouring car) at traffic lights or the servo.
- What year were they made - I know it was a while ago
- Is it genuine? I remember getting passed by one of these years ago when I was doing 140kph and it left me for dead.
That is why you drive an Escort. Owners of Toyota Echo's don't get those comments

An SMS my brother sent me today.
With hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as "I have blown the head gasket on my 1997 Ford" rather than "I F@*#ed a 13 year old Escort".

Lucky unpleasant individual. Although I'm on a union site, heat don't have an actual heat policy. Working around steam turbines gets bloody hot, but all we can do is take rest breaks when needed.

Mmm. I love the smell of freshly cooked ring gear. Just fitted the ring gear to the flywheel. 20 minutes or so at 250 degrees in the oven. Beautiful. Good thing the missus is out for the evening. [:x)]

I got given a 1980, entirely rust free, 2 door Mk2 RS2000. Hasn't been on the road for two years. Fitted with Superlites and new tyres. Matching numnbers. Engine reconditioned. Only downside is that the interior is shot. I figure I now have no chance of winning lotto.
