Thanks Jules and Shaun.

It is pretty good to drive, actually really good manners too. Doesnt really have any dead spots in the power range and made a few corners at Winton that were previously 3rd gear corners into 2nd gear corners with plenty of acceleration coming out the other side.

You just have to look at the shape of the power curve it's telling you the way it will behave as we usually see a lot sharper climbs from the camshafts that are available now as I would expect to see a fat curve from 3500 to 8000rpm and a sharp climb and if you're looking at the torque curve it shloud stay strong all the way to the top

Hey Warren it's just a pity I couldn't put my thing on that dyno, can you imagine what reading it would have done

haven't played around with any other profiles, but we're planning on trying some different grinds in the targa car we're building at the moment. I have been very happy with the results of this camshaft on all the engines I have done though, it can be made to make power. I agree though Danny, with the technology that has gone into camshafts over the years, that the profiles you use would make better mid-top end power, and a broader torque/power curve.

I really want to see Gdub's car on the chassis dyno I use, as I can give a true conversion for power, however I expected it to make those sort of numbers.

Would love to have seen yours on the same dyno!

Just made the link between the SFS photos and this car... does the strut brace clash with the IDF's at all during enthusiastic driving?

Am considering twin carbys and the ability to use a strut brace with IDF's might just tip things in their favour.

Nup! It just fits between the trumpets although i must say, the Whiteline brace is pretty much just window dressing. The mounts are soft as poo pooe.

I wouldn't waste my money buying one again.

Might keep looking for one of the group 1 jobs thatgo around the IDF's instead.

No i didn't, i was pretty much welded to the tent for the whole day so there was a lot i missed!

I have a real issue with running filters on mine due to bonnet clearance. There is only a small amount of gap between the front trumpet and the bonnet when it is closed which makes it break down at around 4000rpm. Take the socks off and it rocks all the way to 7500rpm.

It does have the bakerlite spacers between the carby bases and the manifold which stops it boiling the fuel in the bowls after i turn it off but they are only about 3mm high.

I have seen some nice little filters in the 2010 Burtons catalogue that just sit over the top of the trumpets that i might have to try getting hold of ...

I've got an XWGT bonnet scoop also but i cant bring myself to put it on!

Have you seen these before? I had them recommended to me a little while ago.

http://www.efihardware.com/products/664/mesh-ram-tube-cover-90mm-ID

They are available in a few different sizes.

What are the Ford IDF air boxes worth?

The stuff on the efihardware link is pretty much what i am after.

The factory IDF airbox is probably a bit too restrictive for a track car and they seem to cost an arm and 2 legs if you can find one.
