The daily
Hey guys, just thought i would share my expenssive afternoon drive i had about 3weeks ago. All started when me & a mate went and drop off some parts for my other escort. once we dropped them off we were on our way home when we sore a sign that said driving center, so as we were bored and had nothin els better to do we decided to follow the signs. Keept driving for a while with no idea where were going and then finally we came to a T-itersection that said driving center to the left. After drivin for a little bit longer wecame to the driving center and across the road was a paddock with a bunch of VE commodores. Amongst these VE's were 2 Escorts a Mk1 and a Mk2. After walking around the center trying to find out who owns them i finally got a hold of the owner and after talkin iam now the new owner of the 68 mk1 2dr. nothin major has been done to it which is a good thing as i plan on making it looking as original as possible. engine wise it has a 1.6ltr mk2 engine a bit pissed but there stuff all difference between the original 1.3ltr and 1.6ltr so ill just leave it. did have drum brakes all round but he converted them to mk2 discs, apart from that shes stock as a rock. only took a few pics untill i get it home next week and ill post some better ones up, cant wait.

cheers guys,
nar it wasn't for sale i just asked if he wanted to sell it and he said a price that he wanted for it and i pretty much said sold straight away.
He wasn't going to sell it to me if i was goin to put a jap engine in it or cut it up, plus he didn't really want to let it go but he said he was happy for me to buy it.
didn't really take much of a look at the mk2 but seamed straight, and yer was just a random drive which was expenssive in the end.
Thanks guys, will get some better pic when its home

Well just thought post some new pics know ive finally got it back home and registed, what a misson thats been. I did think bout selling it so i but it up on ebay as some of you may sore just to see how it would go, but it really didn't bother me that it didn't sell cause i still enjoy driving it so know its staying. the plans were not to touch this one but know ive got it home i just want to do a few things to it so the plans are: - lower it - new fiberglass parcel tray and new door rubbers - set of lotus stealies with hubcaps and white walls - ventians - a little somethin to give the engine a bit of go - in need of music which will be a head deck and 1 speaker maybe 2 if i feel like deckin it out - pull the engine out and just re-spray the engine bay aswell as the engine while its out and just fix a few odd bits aand pieces as i go, but thats what hopefuly should come together over the next few months fingers crossed, just want a nice granny looking car .

Thanks guys,
not 100% sure if i will sell the rims when i take them off but if i do more then happy to let you know Ben hopefully i get the steels soon though.
yer i dont want to things that involve cuttin hol;es in this just want it to look original as possible, thats why iam only doing things that can be reversed if i add stuff to it.
nar wasn't to much dramas in gettin it registed all i had to do was fit all new seatbelts to aprove with Australian standards just took the guy so long to do it, after that just went into transport departmen they checked it over and then she was registed.

yer thought bout a mk2 aswell but think the next car i get will be a bit more modern, 32GTR will be next on the list depending on how things go FJ one is taking the back seat for the moment, ive been spending money on the daily cause theres just a few things i would like to do to it. But next on the shopping list is rims so i can get diff to suit and fit the glass, haha and yes i know how you feel about major withdrawls dont like it to much but has to be done. these are the rims iam liking at the moment for the good one, will be 15x8's with some decent dish, just dont know if to go polished, or polished outer with black center, peoples thoughts?

Nice wheels! However they do look a bit too modern for my liking! It's of course your choice, If your good at photoshop then try to paste them over and see how they look. I know everyone has minilites but thats because they look perfect for the car! Hey but I applaude originality!!

Yer i like the rims but thats the thing iam not 100% sure if it will look any good on the car thats why i though about black centers so there not in your face and iam no good at phot shop.
i did have my heart set on Simmons FR90's, i have heard that some one is meant to be re-opining the place but i dont kjnow if thats true or not, yer minilights do look good but i would like somethin a little different.
open to opinions on wheels if anyone knows of some nice rims. My mates say to put stockos on it not to sure how that would go [x2x]
